According to a South Carolina legend, the first joggling board was built in the early 19th century at a plantation in the midlands of South Carolina for exercise purposes. Luckily we have better options for workout today. It turned out that Joggling Boards are fantastic devices to relax after a long day, sipping a Mint Julep in the summertime. Other than rocking chairs you can share the experience with family members or other Souphounds alike to double or triple the fun. Joggling Boards swing, rock and joggle.

Here is one of our favorite finds. We had no idea how much fun a joggling board could be, until we tried one out. Within minutes we knew it belonged into the Souphound Compound. Our 12′ board has become the favorite hang-out for all of our friends and guests alike at the Souphound Kitchen.
The Joggle Factory is a small family-operated business. Kristi and her husband Chris are some of the nicest folks we have met in the last years. They are true Souphounds and love to hunt, gather and cook just as much as we do.
All lumber is certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative where the trees are managed in a way that preserves the natural ecosystem. To ensure longevity, The Joggle Factory uses traditional craftsman joinery held together with waterproof glue and finished with environmentally friendly marine grade paint. The result is a superior and thoughtfully constructed product. In addition to ensuring that the production of each joggling board is environmentally conscious, The Joggle Factory has committed to planting one tree for every joggling board sold.
And yeah, they like to have a cocktail after work.

COURTING BENCH
Joggling Boards make happy families. The term “courting benches” was established in the 19th century. According to legend, if you had a joggling board on your front porch, you would never have an unwed daughter. Young couples would sit on the wood bench and “joggle”. The male would sit on one side of the bench, while the female would sit on the other. Each would “joggle”, guiding themselves to the middle. Once reaching the center, they would engage in a Souphound moment or simply enjoy easy conversation.
