Ever since I watched the classic episode of Bugs Bunny “Shishkabugs”, these magical 4 words were planted into my head: “Where is my Hasenpfeffer?!”
It seemed that both Yosemite Sam and I were enamored with this mystery dish, and I literally tried everything to find out the inside scoop. Mind you, this was centuries before the “internet” was invented.
It turned out that I lived in the right country in the right place at the right time. My late Grandmother had her infamous hand-written notes of recipes that were passed down through the generations. And there it was: Hasenpfeffer.
Her collection of wild-game recipes changed my life for the better, forever. KRAUT+REDNECK® is dedicated to preserve the Heritage of this wealth of knowledge.
